Lotus Elan

This car was purchased as an ex-racecar.  It hadn't ran for several years.  I was asked to get it running.  Similar to the 1968 Morgan non-runner it fired up after evaluation and an oil change.  Howver, it was an ex-racecar for a reason, the engine was shot, or at least the cylinderhead was.

This the power plant, a 1558cc twin cam, big valve unit.  No doubt with several modifications.
